Warlock
Warlocks are dark spellcasters who deal damage through shadow and fire magic, command demonic minions, and drain the life from their enemies. They're one of the strongest DPS classes in TBC, with multiple viable specs and the best AoE damage in the game through Seed of Corruption.
How It Feels to Play
Playing a Warlock in TBC feels powerful. You're not just a DPS — you're a utility powerhouse. Healthstones give your entire raid free health potions. Soulstones let you resurrect someone after a wipe. Ritual of Summoning saves the raid 20 minutes of travel time. And your damage? It's excellent across all three specs.
The Warlock fantasy is about power at a cost. You tap your own health to generate mana (Life Tap), sacrifice demon pets for powerful buffs, and use Soul Shards as a secondary resource that you need to farm before raids. There's a dark bargain to everything you do, and it's thematically incredible.
TBC is the golden age for Warlocks. Seed of Corruption is the best AoE spell in the game — you cast it on a mob, and when it takes enough damage or dies, it explodes and deals massive damage to everything nearby. In dungeons with big trash packs, Warlocks dominate the damage meters so hard it's almost unfair. Raids want three to five Warlocks, so finding a spot is never an issue.
