Key tips that save hours of wasted time.

Hellfire quest greens replace most Classic epics. Don't waste gold upgrading gear before 58.

Respeccing costs add up. Decide your 70 role before Outland and talent accordingly. Check our talent builds.

Dungeon

Each dungeon has quests worth massive XP. One full run with quests = 1-2 hours of solo questing.

  • Leave dungeons with full pre-BiS blues at 70
  • Best for tanks and healers with instant group access

PvP vs PvE Server Leveling

Your server type changes the entire leveling experience. Here's what to expect.

🛡

PvE Server

Uncontested
  • Quest at your own pace with zero interruptions
  • Faster overall. no time lost to corpse runs
  • AFK safely at quest hubs and flight paths
  • Better for solo players and casual schedules
  • World feels less dangerous, some find it less exciting
Best for: New players, solo levelers, and anyone who values predictable progress. You'll hit 70 faster and with less frustration.

PvP Server

Contested
  • Hellfire Peninsula is a gank zone. expect frequent deaths at 58-60
  • Contested zones like Nagrand and Terokkar can slow you 20-30%
  • Flying at 70 is almost mandatory to farm safely
  • World PvP is thrilling and builds server reputation
  • Stronger community bonds from shared conflict
Survival Tips
  • Level during off-peak hours (mornings, weekdays)
  • Group up in contested zones. safety in numbers
  • Skip Halaa in Nagrand if the opposite faction controls it
  • Zangarmarsh and Blade's Edge are usually less contested

Zone-by-Zone Progression

Follow this path for the smoothest leveling experience.

1

Hellfire Peninsula

Level 58–62

Your first steps through the Dark Portal. Hellfire is chaotic, crowded, and unforgettable. Quest greens here replace most Classic epics, so don't waste gold upgrading before you arrive. Stick to the main quest chains and hit the dungeons early for massive XP.

Zangarmarsh

Level 62–64

Level 64–67

The fan-favorite zone of TBC. Nagrand's rolling green hills and floating islands are a visual masterpiece. Quests here reward excellent gear and huge gold. The Nesingwary hunting chains are a rite of passage. On PvP servers, Halaa is a gank hotspot. skip it if the other faction controls it.

Dungeons:
  • No dungeons in Nagrand. pure questing zone

  • Kurenai / Mag'har. talbuks, crafting recipes
  • The Consortium. monthly gem bag at Friendly+

Jagged spires and dangerous ogre lands. Blade's Edge is often skipped by speed levelers, but it has solid quest density and less competition on PvP servers. The Ogri'la and Skyguard daily quest hubs unlock at 70 and are worth coming back for. Good zone to overlap with Nagrand.

Dungeons:
  • No dungeons in Blade's Edge. quest here between dungeon runs
Reputation:
  • Ogri'la & Sha'tari Skyguard. daily quests at 70
Key Goals:
  • Complete the Sylvanaar / Thunderlord quest chains
  • Use this zone to fill XP gaps between dungeons
  • Pick up profession recipes from zone vendors

Netherstorm

Level 67–70

The shattered remains of Draenor's northern edge. Netherstorm is packed with Tempest Keep lore and high-level quests that reward strong pre-raid gear. Three dungeons here are core to your attunement chain. This is where endgame preparation begins.

Dungeons:
  • The Mechanar (67–70)
